Season 1 is in the books, and we have already released the first couple of episodes for Salty Jobs Season 2! Before we get too far into Season 2, I want to take a moment to look back on Season 1, and to provide an update on some of the things we’ve been working on behind the scenes.
Season 1 was a blast! Big THANK YOU to everyone involved, from the staff at MIASF and Media Lab Fort Lauderdale, to all the great companies and employees I’ve worked with, none of this would be possible without you! For a guy who could barely change the oil in his car prior to Salty Jobs, I’ve learned a ton about marine trade and technical skills and am feeling much more “handy” around the house these days. I mean, how hard could changing a light switch be after assembling shore cords for mega yachts? Whether I was repairing running gear, taking a mayday call in a towboat, performing a sea trial or demonstrating water sports equipment at a boat show, three things were very clear:
- The marine industry is thriving!
- The industry needs employees in all trades and across all segments!
- The scenery is much more appealing than your average office!
As we dive in to Season 2, I am truly excited for the experiences that lie ahead… even if some may take me a bit out of my comfort zone. The marine industry really is full great career opportunities, and we have only begun to scratch the surface on the variety of jobs our industry has to offer!
